
Samford Gives Back is a campus-wide service initiative organized by the Office of Student Leadership and Community Engagement and Omicron Delta Kappa, the national leadership fraternity. The mission of Samford Gives Back is to partner the Samford community with organizations that are committed and working towards the betterment and restoration of the greater Birmingham community. Each Samford Gives Back volunteer will receive breakfast, a t-shirt, and 4 Convocation Credits.
Samford Gives Back 2013 will be Saturday, April 13th!
SCHEDULE:
8:00am-Registration, breakfast, and devotional in Pete Hanna Center
8:30am-Depart for work sites
*Note: SU ID cards will be swiped as students leave for their sites. Students MUST bring their ID cards in order to receive Convo Credit!
9:00am-Arrive at work sites and begin service
1:00pm-Wrap up service

Registering as a Group:
Most students who participate in Samford Gives Back will participate as part of a group. Groups may be registered student organizations or informal groups such as residence halls, friend groups, etc. Each group must have a group leader who is willing to coordinate the service opportunity and submit group members' info at https://orgsync.com/30302/forms/69440. Groups are responsible for finding their own sites at which to serve. Before contacting an organization, please notify Taylor Bell at jbell1@samford.edu. Group Registration Forms must be submitted no later than Friday, April 5th.
Registering as an individual:
Don't have a group, but want to participate in Samford Gives Back? Individuals can sign up for service sites on Monday, April 8th and Tuesday, April 9th from 10:00am-1:00pm in the lobby area at the bottom of the Caf stairs and on Wednesday, April 10th from 10:00am-2:00pm in Ben Brown Plaza at the UM Urban Emphasis Fair.
TRANSPORTATION:
Each volunteer will be responsible for his/her own transportation on the day of the event. Students are encouraged to carpool to and from the service sites. Group leaders are responsible for ensuring that all group members have transportation and directions to the site.
